Sci/fi Sort Story (Click to select text)
THE ALIEOUS CRISES. Part One It was a fine morning when John Parker (the president of the United States of America) was served his coffee and a newspaper. Parker noticed that on the front page dozens of pictures of UFO’s were shown. Immediately the phone rang and he was called into the White House. As the Minister of Defence was guiding Parker to a helicopter, he mentioned that the presidents of England, Russia, France and China were reported with a serious virus. He also mentioned that they had been acting very strange. When Parker finally arrived at the White House, he noticed that something was wrong. Nearly all the politicians were fighting in a child like manner. The Secretary of State was strangling the Vice President over a seat. The White House was in complete ciaos and in result Parker told the Minister of Defence to call security and to organise a meeting with all negotiating American politicians. The Meeting took place several hours later and only nine politicians were able to attend the meeting. None of these politicians apart from the Minister of Defence were able to comprehend the cause of this crisis. The Minister of Defence explained that most world leading countries were dealing with similar problems. He came to a conclusion that it was a terrorist attack by some type of corporate group. The Minister of Defence Advised Parker to recruit well renowned scientist and to examine all mentally unstable politicians. Once the scientist arrived, Parker was told that it would take two – four weeks to define the politicians mental deformity. The scientist’s closest guess at the stage was that it was virus. Parker knew that there was nothing more that could be done. This worried him, he began to ask himself questions of what if he had also been exposed of the virus?, what if he was forced to resign in result?, how would his family cope if he wasn’t there for them?. Another thought that was troubling Parker was the media, he knew that sooner or later the media would accuse him also of being infected by the virus, and that the media would demand answers on the UFO’s spotted. That evening Parker arranged a seminar for the public, there were many questions about the UFO’s and the unwell politicians. For once Parker answered every question truthfully, this was only because he couldn’t tell the media anymore than they knew. The following morning Parker woke up extremely tiered. He had a bad headache and he was feeling grumpy. During breakfast a servant asked him if he would like some more orange juice, Parker snapped and shouted “Of course I do you idiot, You were only asking because you wanted the orange juice for your self. You better hurry up and bring me all the orange juice you can find”. Parker’s wife was in the room during that incident, she was shocked to see her husband in such a state. She didn’t want to approach him about it because she knew that it would only lead to an argument. Instead, she rang the only person she could trust (the Minister of Defence). The Minister of Defence advised the First Lady not to inform any other people about Parker’s mood swings. He told her that if other politicians found out, Parker may well be used as an experimental giniepig for scientific use. Parker thought to himself as he was travelling to the White House, he acknowledged that the virus had affected him and he was now extremely afraid of loosing his positions as the president. He promised himself not to let his emotions brake out and he prayed for a cure. Once Parker made it to the White House, a message had been sent from the UN, it informed Parker and the politicians that Russia would declare war on France and Germany if the two countries objected the offer of becoming an ally with Russia. The message also noted that Russia was demanding this from France and Germany because Russia needed an ally to attack the UFO’s, which were now abducting civilians off the streets of Europe. After much debating Parker and the Politicians came to a decision of keeping the United States in a neutral position. They would only send peacekeeping forces if Russia engaged their forces on France and Germany. Part Two One month later; Germany, France and Russia became allies; UFO’s were abducting civilians on the streets of Manhattan and many more places all over the United States; Many new wars broke out all over the world; America stayed neutral; This world crises was called World War Three. Parker managed to find a cure for the virus but the White House was now even more chaotic than before. Parker and the politicians weren’t able to negotiate with the aliens, seeing that it was impossible to contact them. They came to a decision to retaliate by sending United States last Air Force forces and to engage an attack on the UFO’s hovering over New York. The Battle turned out to be successful, although America suffered a great loss of fighter pilots. The aliens retreated and moved their forces to Europe. The following day the White House received a message from Russia. It demanded assistance in the war against the UFO’s. Russia felt that America was obliged to send forces to them, this was because they were fighting against the UFO’s that America was initially at war against. Parker and the politicians final decision on Russia’s demand was not to assist them as an ally, seeing that America simply couldn’t afford to lose any more forces. The following day Parker’s red alert phone rang, The Minister of Defence was sorry to tell Parker that Russian had obliterated the entire state of New York, he also informed Parker that Russia attempted to launch a nuclear bomb at the state of Washington DC, luckily defence forces were able to intercept the bomb with an anti bomb missile. The Minister of Defence advised Parker to retaliate by launching a nuclear bomb at Russia. Parker gave the Minister of Defence permission to do so and to make sure that the impact would be right on target. Unfortunately the impact of the bomb wasn’t right on target and it struck the dead centre of Europe. This put America in a very bad position in the war, most remaining forces all over the world declared war on the United States. There were no longer any forces fighting against the aliens putting the world in a very vulnerable position. After many long debates Parker and the politicians were able to define the strategy of the alien invasion. They came to a conclusion; the aliens planted radioactive viruses in personal cellphones, the radiation on the phones was so severe that it led to mental deformity. These viruses were only planted on world leading politicians causing many child like political arguments. The political arguments were so extreme that it led to the break out of wars. The politicians also concluded that the remaining world forces were far too weak to defeat the aliens. The only hope left for humanity was to beat the aliens at their own game. The politician’s plan was to plant a super virus in the aliens communication system. This would hopefully breakdown the UFO’s navigational system causing them to crash. This mission was very difficult, for no one had ever managed to invent such a technical virus. Two weeks later after many attempts of trying to invent a virus powerful enough to crash the UFO’s navigational system, a Russian computer specialist finally accomplished it. The Alieous virus. The UFO’s crashed all over the world and it was good to see the Americans and the Russians cooperating together.
